Why I Started This Newsletter

Anyone alive in/ 2023 is feeling more anxiety than every before. The world feels crazy to all of us. We’ve come out of Covid that has affected many people’s mental health. And now we’re entering wars, bank runs, a recession, and more.

It feels upsetting right now. And I’ve been here before: as a business owner, I’ve dealt with some very tough times in the past. I’m a busy person and don’t have a lot of time to deal with stress effectively, and so over time I’ve tried and tested a number of ways to keep a positive mental outlook.

I created this newsletter to pass on my learnings and learn new strategies with you all. This is my post on beehiiv where the newsletter will migrate over to. I started this newsletter on another platform 3 months ago, and 900 people read me on there each week to stay afloat during these tough times.

I hope you’ll join this community and can’t wait to start learning with you.

⚡ Quick Hack: How The Rainbow Technique Removes Anxiety Fast

Dr Carolyn Rubenstein, a Boca Raton, Florida-based psychologist, recommends honing your senses on something external to serve as a distraction panic that you’re feeling.

  • Focus on the colors of the rainbow. This gets your mind off of whatever is stressing you immediately.

  • Look for 3 red objects around you in the room, then move onto orange, then yellow, then green, then blue .

  • It gets your focus off of the negative. By having you focus on your surroundings, it immediately changes your perspective.

🍎 Habit Hack: Stop Any Physical Or Mental 2 Hours Before Sleep

Sleep is key for proper mental health. Most people don’t have optimal sleep each night, as they keep working or doing chores right up until they go to sleep.

According to experts: this is a problem as the brain needs a lack of stimulation for up to 2 hours before going to sleep.

So, what do you do instead? Try reading, relaxing, or taking a bath. By refraining from stressful or thoughtful activities, you’ll be ready to get a proper night’s sleep which will boost your mental health tremendously.

🧠 Pro Hack: How Getting Even Moderate Exercise Improves Your Mental Health

Even moderate exercise can greatly improve your mental health, according to 2 new studies done on both adults and kids.

Brisk walking, cycling, swimming, dancing-all of it counts.

Over 128,000 participants were reviewed, and adults with or without underlying mental health conditions who did physical activity had improvements in systems of both depression and anxiety.

This week try doing some physical activity and checking on your mental health next week: the results may surprise you!
